The capital of Malaysia, KUALA LUMPUR, will obviously be a must, especially if you arrive from Europe, especially from France.
We advise you to visit the surroundings of Kuala Lumpur, and not to stay too long with the crowd and the traffic jams of Kuala Lumpur center.
You can visit the surrounding cities (Putrajaya, for example), or even go to the shopping malls in the neighborhoods around the center.

    • Kota Bharu : Kota Bharu is located on the east coast of Malaysia, it is the capital of the state of Kelantan. Like Kuala Terengganu, the city is also the main entrance to the island of Perhentians. You can visit: The downtown market and the Istana Jahar Museum which was a royal residence over 200 years ago.

Some additional tips

Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country.
Remember to check the dates of the month of Ramadan.
If you are a Muslim, and would like to share this holy month (or part of it) with the local population, take advantage of it.
However, from our experience, do not expect “incredible” festivities either.

If you are not Muslim, please keep in mind that some businesses may be closed early.
Others, on the contrary, will stay open late into the night!
